Just had the most amazing sushi experience in Hamburg. East Restaurant was already a reference of mine since i had visited this city a few years ago and still remembered how tasty and delicious the sushi was. So i returned and decided to check it out...and what an awesome decision it was! Sushi remains one of the best i ever tried. So fresh, so japanese-flavoured in every option, the sashimi, the nigiri, the rice rolls everything together is just a mind travel to Japan. Don't miss it for the world!

Nice place, nice cuisine although prices are on the high level range. Wide choice of wines with bottom price around 40 €. Waiter a bit pushy on the tip. Awesome crispy shrimp starter. Duck main course was really a good surprise!

As soon as we entered the restaurant we were fascinated by how it looked. Unfortunately we had to wait around 7-8 minutes before the staff decided to talk to us, followed by 35 minutes of waiting before we had to remind the waiter to deliver our drinks. When we tried to talk to the manager he was incredibly rude and unprofessional, saying that we should expect bad service because we changed our reservation time, this was even though we notified them 5 hours before. The food makes this place deserve more than one star since it was rather good. But because of this terrible service and awful management, it does definitely not deserve more than 2 stars.
I certainly would not recommend their restaurant.

Excellent for Sushi (not only Sushi!), great bar, different seating areas. Nice old fabric building. Service is always friendly and motivated.

The building is absolutely beautiful and interior is so cozy. The food was good but nothing spectacular but fresh and nicely placed on the serving platters. But what takes this place down is the service. Got food before drinks and forgot some drinks to the able which we ordered and then the timing of serving of food was so much apart that we finishes most dishes and then 30 mins after came on of the sides we had ordered. But the staff was nice and kindly apologized. I think this place for sure have potential to have a five star but need to work on the service and timing of serving

Promising venue and food let down by s-l-o-w service and a kitchen that can’t cope when busy.
We arrived as a group of 7 and had great service at the bar as we waited for our table. We were seated at 8.50pm and ordered at 9. Nothing happened until 10pm when some edamame arrived.
Water, lost. Wine, slow and had to be chased. Manager (when I complained) nice enough but weak and ineffective. Apologised, said they were rushed. I asked why he hadn’t communicated rather than just hiding.
Food when it arrived was very good - worth the higher-than-average price.
No adjustment made to the bill. Retired to the bar where once again good service from friendly staff (and a sub-1hr wait for our order!).
Summary: good food, nice ambience, rubbish and inept service in the restaurant, good bar.

great atmosphere... friendly and professional staff.... menu has diversity... I ordered Cesar Salad with spicy chicken it was good but salty... sushi was perfect and well presented... salmon was perfect .... recommended
