Love it, never stay anywhere else when in Hamburg! Lidl across the road for the €1 lattes (when the machine works)! Great location and the rooms are plenty spacious with parking under the hotel!

The worst experience i ever had in my life at a hotel. The first day we checked in and our belongings got stolen from the SAFE in the hotel room. This happend within an hour. The hotel management and receptionist was extremely rude, and didnt bother to help us, so we had to call and report to the police ourselves. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Completely disappointed. There were 3 elevators and one of them didn’t work properly. I went to the reception and if there is any problem with my key card she made me wait 15 min. and told me to use the other elevator . Nobody speaks english it is very hard to communicate . The phone in the room didn’t work and it took 2 days to be repaired . and when I called the reception no one picked to phone up . It mentioned at the key card cover that breakfast time in saturday and sunday 6:30 -11:30 am. I went to the restaurant at 10:56 the waitress told me very rudely that I had only 4 minutes for breakfast my friend came from the room at 11:05 and they didn’t let him to have breakfast . completely disaster . never come again .

The main reason for choosing ARCOTEL RUBIN, among the many hotels in Hamburg, were the opportunity to park at the hotel, and a renowned Gin Bar, I’ll get back to the bar.
When we arrived at the hotel their parking garage had a clear green “Frei” sign outside, meaning please drive in, however the garage door wouldn’t open, and the machine wouldn’t give me a ticket.
We went to the reception to inquire, and where told, that the garage was full, and we could park about 500 meters away at the street. Well, we were very dissatisfied with that answer, which we informed the reception in both German and English. Well, the receptionist couldn’t do anything, other than give us a call, if there should turn up a free space in their garage. We parked our car those 500 meters away and dragged our luggage back to the hotel. When we arrived at the room, we got a call, that there now was a free space in the garage. I ran back to the car, and entered the garage, it still wouldn’t open, but when I rang the reception, they remotely opened it for me.
Much to my surprise I didn’t only find one free space, I found 11 unoccupied parking spots in the garage, and furthermore all of the four handicap spaces were unoccupied as well!
The only explanation I can think of, that they keep these spaces free for annoying customers like me. So heads up if you choose this hotel, and there’s no parking available, give them some noise at the reception, and mysteriously there will turn empty spaces up.
It must be really awful for a handicapped person to find the parking garage full, even if all Handicap spaces is unused, it is so unprofessional and rude.
Well, luckily, I’ve heard of their fantastic gin bar, with more than 50 brands of gin, so I could at least get a decent Ginu0026Tonic to calm me down. Ha, they have about 10 gins on the menu, the first 3 we requested, were unfortunately sold out! The poor bartender had to look up every recipe for the few cocktails they carry, and the bar were totally closed on Monday.
The Breakfast is decent but overpriced 22 Euro/night/Person.
Don’t I have anything good to say about the hotel, oh yes, the shower has plenty of hot water ????

I booked in this Hotel for 1 night.
I had to cancel it because someone in my family passed away.
They didn't understand it, and still charged me the room.
This is not fair...

The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. The beds were good. Service at the reception or front desk was low, slightly obnoxious and not helpful with simple things like parking. We did not feel helped with the car and found ourselves on our own late at night with parking problems.
The breakfast was excellent and the service was nice and friendly.
The hotel is well placed, close to almost everything. The neighborhood at night gets a little dodgy.
