Original Hamburg fish restaurant. Specialties are eel, plaice and the local crabs. The restaurant is very small. One of the small rooms is made of the narrow alley between the houses. Prices are moderate with high quality. The kitchen is closed at noon times between lunch and dinner.

The food was truly delicious. Our party of five each ordered a different meal, and we couldn't decide who had the best food. Additionally, the staff was charming, attentive, and very fun to talk with. Absolutely a five star experience!

Three stars with a lot of good will, as the hosts are trying hard.... The Aal is of very good quality, BUT the ambience is very poor as the table cloth was dirty, the room was freezing and the presentation of the dishes was without any love. As such, good if you like to eat smoked „Aal“. If you want to have a romantic dinner: Search for another place!

Very unfriendly waiter, we came at 5:30 and asked for a table. After we were seated and asked for a beer we were told that we should go to a pub nearby, because they were all booked out (we were the only clients in the restaurant) There are much better and nicer places around, try to avoid this place.

This was definitely one of the more prominent emotional experiences. Learning the history of the Berlin wall and looking at the pictures and peoples stories definitely brought up some emotions that are truly unimaginable. This wall separated families for decades and it's coming down was truly a victory for the world. I highly recommend a visit here.

Waiter Marcus is an absolute legend.
