A delightful outdoor setting, under the trees. The menu is extensive and surely there is something for all. Prices are, I suppose, normal for these times albeit a bit high. But the quality of the food is excellent, great flavour and nicely presented. Plus, the service is attentive and quick. Highly recommended!

Very nice and helpful staff. I am not sure about the food.
We ordered the 3 fillet of fish from the grill with salad, in effect we had 3 small fillet which tasted like shallow fried, very oily and the sauces were just full of fat and oil. I enjoyed the salad though.
Not keen!

After a beautiful bike ride along the river with my family, we decided to have lunch at this nicely located restaurant. However, the server was somehow not happy to see us: she told us with a very unfriendly face, that she had no space left - although ca 70% of the tables were unoccupied and there was still more than 1 hour left until closures. And we saw that other guests after us who had no reservation either were seated….
We are not sure what exactly caused this rejection, we were not loud and were wearing clean clothes.
Maybe the fact that we were speaking English among each other put her off.
We would not recommend to visit this place although it looks nice. From my own previous experience, the food is also pretty average.
There are lots of other beautiful restaurants in Freiburg with welcoming and friendly service.

Normally packed of people but this day they found a place for me. Fish was great and soup local and traditional. Be careful at wasps!!

Lovely ancient traditional restaurant. Food was superb with huge portions. Staff are excellent and very pleasant.

Wonderful restaurant. Delicious and interesting food, warm ambience and excellent service. If we lived in Freiburg we would visit this restaurant all the time.

My wife and I are here and are surprised by the negative reviews. Prices are reasonable, food is delicious, service very nice, and in a lovely setting. Would definitely return. In response to the reviewer who posted about the tuna, it is really expected that a non-seafood restaurant in the Black Forest would have fresh tuna on hand in the event someone ordered a tuna salad??
