A very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly, the branding makes the hotel feel very clean and professional. Great location, and the breakfast was fantastic. The only criticism we had was that the room (and especially the bathroom) was too small for two people. But overall, for the price, it was great to stay for a night.

Great value for money hotel in an excellent central location.

Nothing fancy, but very clean. Friendly helpful staff and a great lobby bar.

This was my second time to stay at a Motel One (first time was in Cologne) and I like how reliable this chain is. The rooms are small and there's no real place to store luggage, OK since I was traveling solo, but could be problematic if traveling with someone else. The bed was comfortable and there were two different kinds of pillows, which was nice, and the whole room seemed very clean. The staff was very friendly and I was able to check in early. The location is great, right by the old town area and one can walk to most of the tourist attractions. What I really love is the breakfast buffet, the breads (from the croissant to the rustic farmer bread) tasted so good, and to know that they're organic was another plus. Very affordable and reliable chain and would definitely stay at another Motel One again.

Extremely small rooms. Paper thin walls (could hear everything next door). No water, no coffee, no closet. Towel rack is inside the shower (hello, DRY towels, please!). So small, there was nowhere to put luggage. Place was cheap, but not THAT cheap.

Stayed two nights
Checking in and out was smooth.
Room is nice and shower is great!
Breakfast is good, not much vegan options.
Staff is super nice and helpful.

Pros -
Location, Room(small but comfortable)

Cons -
The extremely rude and unprofessional service staff in the front desk. My money was stolen from the room’s safe. FROM THE SAFE. And the staff didn’t even bother apologising, leave alone compensating.

Note to the management - Teach your staff on how to talk to guests. And replace the Safe in the room as any housekeeping staff could open and steal from it.

I can’t stay there anymore because I’m afraid to keep my stuff in the room and go out peacefully.

The positive is that the hotel is located in the middle of Freiburg. Really easy to get to the centre. The hotel itself is really nice decorated and the staff is really friendly. The rooms however is really really small. By my opinion to small for two people. You can't really move especially when you have luggage. With that you can't really put your luggage anywhere. The bathroom is quite claustrophobic. In the evening to have a drink, be early! As soon as more people coming the barkeeper loses oversight and you can wait an hour for your drinks.
