Beautiful and nice location. Not too crowded and perfect for a day trip if you are somewhere around Black Forest.
There is "Cafe and Restaurant" too, which serves great food.
A must visit place ❤️

The hike up is quite difficult in the snow but the view from top is worth it. Would definitely recommend it all year long and even better on sunny day with clear skies. There's a Café on the top beside the ropeway station which has a scenic dining place and fast service with menu ranging from Coffee, Wine to Pommes and Pastries.

A very nice restaurant on top of the Schauinsland! After taking a cable car to the top and walking around, we were happy to find this restaurant for our lunch :)
The food was excellent and the staff is so friendly. Menu is in German, French and English. The black forest cake is yummy!

Great and typical Freiburg experience to go up with the Schauinslandbahn and then enjoy breakfast at this place, you can buy a ticket that includes the ride up plus the "all you can eat" breakfast (29 euros up and down plus breakfast, 26 euros one way ride plus breakfast).
The food is amazing and the service is wonderful, don't miss the amazing views all around. Very recommended.

This place is amazing! You won't regret going. I've been twice so far and will go again! I went for the views (amazing!) but the restaurant staff are very friendly, helpful, efficient, quick, everything! You feel so welcome!
The food is delicious, with lots of options, even for veggie and vegan and allergies! You get big portions for the price!
I 100% recommend a visit.

You should go to Bergstation if you visit Freiburg. Nature, forest, fresh air. The cable car takes about 16 minutes one way and 3300 meters. Enjoy it :) You should take number 2 tram and get off it at the last station. Then you take number 21 bus.
