Quite an exercise for me, almost gave up in the middle of climbing that hill in the hot Summer. BTW, if you don’t like to hike you can drive up there. The view is very beautiful at the top of the tower.

It is a really beautiful spot. You will enjoy it and for a moment you can also feel that you are somewhere in the forest. From this place, you can see the whole Freiburg but to visit this place you need a lot of energy. However, do not forget to bring some food and drinks to boost your energy.

Quite a hike. I tried to get there by bike but the place is really only reachable by foot. Worth the effort.

Probably the best place to get a over view over Freiburg city and it’s surroundings!

Amazing views of the city and surrounding forest. It gets windy as you get higher than the tree line so be prepared. The space at the tip gets smaller also with the pinnacle only taking one person. But if it's not too busy then the views are amazing and second to none. The view of the valleys as you take in a 369 are beautiful. If you have clear skies then you can see far. Great dramatic scenery with the clouds and blue sky. It's a bit of a climb to get up however. A trick I found was to take the funicular from the city side which gets you halfway up and return is only 5 euros which saves you 15 mins of walking each way. Well worth it.

I must have climbed the most time in these 3 years to this tower. And watched different seasons, nights, rain, snow etc. Check images from the tower in instagram under @the_snapwalk

Nice hike to get there, nice view of the whole city. However, if your only interested in a view of the cathedral you don't have to get there. The first belvedaire is the best place for a picture.
