I would give zero stars to STA in Germany if possible. I'm not purchasing from STA Germany any longer. Highly nonchalant, incompetent service that costs passengers a lot of extra money in the end. Extremely rude, impolite and unhelpful telephone service when you are in an emergency situation. They didn't assist at all in a very urgent situation. The difference in service I received between STA Australia / New Zealand / UK and STA in Germany was massive. STA Australia / NZ contact passengers before the flight to check everything is okay, to double check ticket and if they can do anything for you. Here I just got an incorrect ticket that didn't allow me to fly, a grunt and very curt, short responses on the phone, with the "customer service" representative talking over the top of me in a very direct, aggressive, sarcastic tone. STA Bonn wouldn't help regarding another ticket because it wasn't purchased in Bonn. The manager there also had quite a direct tone and cut off my sentences while talking. Massively impolite in many Western cultures. Wanted me out of the shop asap because I wasn't purchasing anything there. Please train your STA staff in Germany regarding customer service and politeness towards customers. Customers are the reason why your staff have jobs and are paid for this every month, and how your company makes money. I really don't know why STA bother having offices in Germany if they don't display the same customer service that is demonstrated by this chain in other countries, and additionally if they can't help international STA travellers because the ticket wasn't bought at their office. I have sent a detailed complaint to the international STA headquarters. Unacceptable by a long shot. Never again.

Unbelievably rude, impolite service. I gave them a second try / benefit of the doubt after completely incompetent service during my last booking, which they completely messed up and did not apologise for. Never again!

I went into one of their shops in Germany, instead of using the internet, specifically so that I could book a flight as a musician which allows me to take instruments on board. I have flown for over 15 years around the world without a problem. I was given a cheaper flight with China Airlines on 24.12.2018 by the assistant at the Cologne, Rudolfplatz Office from Frankfurt to Sydney, after stating I needed a flight on which one could take instruments. Over 1200 Euros was paid to the office for service, which ended up being anything but this.

I rang China Airlines today to book an aisle seat and found out they do not accept instruments on board and that I would have to put my saxophone in with the rest of my luggage or pay for another seat on board. Instruments to the value of 20,000 Euros. I then called both the Cologne office and head office in Frankfurt with two of the most inadequate, rude, disgraceful customer service representatives I have ever experienced internationally. Customers are actually paying your wages. Most certainly not trained in conflict resolution - however that seems to be a trend in Germany. Communication is not a strong point.

I was not listened to by the two young service representatives, who just spoke over the top of me in an extremely aggressive tone, said there was nothing they could do about this before I leave. I have never had such a disrespectful experience in my life. These young female customer service representatives would have to be the worst I have experienced anywhere in the world. Incompetent, disorganised, lazy service, which has now cost me extra money. Grow up and actually offer a professional service to your paying customers STA Germany - the worst affiliate of this company worldwide. Otherwise, find another job and put everyone out of their misery.

Wir hatten eine Flugreise in die USA über die STA Travel GmbH in Frankfurt gebucht. Nachdem der Flug aufgrund der aktuellen Situation nicht stattfinden konnte, wurde es still um die STA Travel GmbH und die Mitarbeiter in Frankfurt.

Nach mehrfacher schriftlicher Aufforderung, den von uns geleisteten vierstelligen Betrag zurückzuerstatten, gab es keine Reaktion. Unsere höfliche Terminanfrage zu einem persönlichen Gespräch konnte ebenfalls nicht erfüllt werden, da mittlerweile alle Geschäftsstellen in Frankfurt geschlossen sind.

Bis heute, nach über 6 Monaten, haben wir keine Stellungnahme oder eine Rückerstattung des Flugpreises von der STA Travel GmbH in Frankfurt erhalten.

Wir sahen uns daher gezwungen die Angelegenheit unserem Anwalt zu übergeben…
