It is disappointing after Flemings took over it. I've loved this hotel. Best location, good service, one of the best hotels you could find in Frankfurt downtown with a fair price. But it was when the hotel was still under Steigenberger group.
I came in late evening, around 21 o'clock local time. No one at the front desk and I've waited at least 5 minutes. I can't tell how long I had to wait if I weren't talking to the staff at hotel bar. Same thing happened during the breakfast buffet. We need to tell the staff our room number, every staff was busy, some chatted with other customers, but no one came to get your room number. So you either have to wait well-behaved, or just walk in.
Choose from the breakfast buffet is unfortunately not so various anymore as it was. And staff chatted with customers WITHOUT MASKS directly in front the buffet.
It might not be that bad if you don't have another experiences to compare with though, but I'm very disappointed and will rather stay in a budget hotel with better trained staffs next time.

Basically, the hotel is good and welcoming. Location is brilliant for the people in transit or for a short stay in Frankfurt. The accessibility and service during the night-time could be improved upon. It felt like, there were short-staffed at the reception. Some help with multiple bags and luggage would have been welcome. All in all, a great old-school / classic hotel vibe with courteous staff.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, calming and lovely overall. Such a refreshing environment that will soothe your soul! I especially love the gorgeous bathroom and huge bathtub! A plus for Europe.. I have not had a bathtub in any hotel I’ve stayed at lately so it’s wonderful to have this. It is a majestic and regal hotel With an excellent price.

the staff was so highly unprofessional. the housekeeping always forgot something. to clean the trash, to exchange the empty body wash. they never cleaned anything properly. the staff didn’t even value my privacy. They crashed into my room several times even the disturb sign were out. If you complain at the front desk they just tell you to be quiet bc of others guests even I wasn’t screaming at all..?! they showed Zero empathy. they basically didn’t even care about everything what happened. outrageous.. don’t go there if you like to safe your nerves and energy..

The pillows should not stay like that if the room is for 2 persons. 2 people use them and they do not even have a clue which one belongs to who. Perhaps they are new every day, but we do not know this. The hygiene... same with towels, by the way... And my small pillow I brought from home for myself should not be putt on the night table near the bed, no matter how clean you think the last one is. Because you do not know how clean I think it is. The hygiene, again.

Me and my colleagues were in Frankfurt for a trade show. We normally stay at the Movenpick, but was not available. As I know the area, I thought something near the train station was convenient for its tram access. This is not the bets part of Frankfurt and hotels in the area are sketchy, so wasn’t expecting much. We were all very pleasantly surprised. The Metropolitan was very comparable to the Movenpick. I hear it will be refurbished soon, so expect improvements. Breakfast could use a few more hot dishes. Overall, had no complaints or negative experiences. Staff was really great. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

This hotel is overpriced if your seeking a coffee machine or jug and tea and coffee.in your room (additional minimum 80 euro per night I was told by reception to upgrade to a newe but no bigger room from our already nice room. There is also only 1 x English speaking tv channel (CNN news) and not any options for subtitles on other Chanel’s and no pay per view movies and no access to Netflix or the like. so not good for many people, families or kids at night, tired or perhaps unwell for a day unless you speak German. I think in 2022 they can do so much better compared to what most basic hotels around the world offer and particularly at this price point. Would regretfully not recommend a stay.
