The best skyline views of Frankfurt! Period.

Great addition to the cathedral tour is the climb to the tower and enjoy stunning views of Frankfurt. Climbing through the narrow twisting staircase (over 300 steps) was a bit challenging even for me. There was not much space to avoid other visitors - one must stop and wait for others to pass - therefore the walk up took me some time. At the platform, there was not much space either, it was hard to avoid/pass other visitors (especially the ones with backpacks) and it could be a bit claustrophobic for some. Seating at the stone ledges of the cathedrals tower was available.

The views are simply spectacular, amongst my favourites of Frankfurt! On the west side you can see the 200 meter tall concrete giants guarding the small, but pretty, old city center af the forefront. Southern part overlooks the artery of the city - Main river - and the European Central Bank dominates the eastern horizon. Apart from this, you can see residential parts of Frankfurt that are not really interesting.

It is easy to get here with U-bahn - afterall the station here is named after the cathedral. Ticket office is located behind the cathedral (no tickets sales inside the cathedral), towards the Weckmart - the side of the cathedral facing the river. Tickets can be purchased only with cash payments and costs 3 EUR, which is a bargain for what you see from up there!

Definitely a great place to enjoy the awesome views! Visited in June 2022.

A majestic temple, in the middle of which the coroners of the German Empire were executed for a long time. Very simple lines without ornaments. The truth is that I was waiting for the church to be most impressive for its role in the history of Germany!

Wonderful view! Quite cheap (3€/2€). You just have to be comfortable with narrow staircases.

Open 9-12 and 13:15-20 ( Sundays 13-20 only), free entry, Tower €3 p.p., parking and metro very close. Here the emperors of Germany were elected, red sand stone construction in gothic style. At this point, so to speak, is the nucleus of Frankfurt, right next door you can see the excavations of Roman buildings. It is worth to climb the tower, you get a magnificent view.

Awesome 360 degree views of all the city of Frankfurt. It is a challenging trip upstairs (about 600 stairs) but it’s worth it. The entrance is super cheap 3 euros. A must if you’re fit.

Amazing views of the city and a great way to appreciate the detail of the ornaments at the top of the tower. It's worth the excercise of climbing the spiral staircase, just bear in mind it is very difficult and very long without a rest, not recommended if you have any sort of impediment.
