Older woman behind the counter was completely rude to us because we spoke English. Despite us being able to pronounce Vanille, she just stood there and threw us nasty looks. My husband then started speaking German to her and she was completely rude. Seriously, a complete xenophobe. TERRIBLE customer service. Worst service we experienced in all of Europe. I hope for her sake that she never gets treated how she treated us. We're German by blood line too, lady. You aren't better than anyone else. Will NEVER go there again.

Update 2020... The coffee used to be better and on the day that I was there the service by the waitress was bad (the cashier and the other lady on the bakery was good though) unfortunately they still do not accept card, only cash. The only good thing about the place is the food quality and the space that they have

Wonderful, cozy Cafe. The latté was delightful. The pastries were delicious. The staff were warm and friendly to an English speaking tourist. Danke dir!

Worst coffee shop ever. Avoid it.
Waitress has a unacceptable attitude, trying to diminish us just because we were not Germans. Completely inappropriate. Even when we insisted we wanted to have breakfast she start to say does not accept cards and didn’t want to serve us. In the end, we’ve got frustrated and head to other place. It was a bad day start.

We were searching for a breakfast spot and thought this would be a good place. The baked goods and cakes look very nice and are surely tasty. However we wanted to sit somewhere for breakfast. It's not clear from outside if you have to order at the counter, take a seat and wait for someone to attend or if you buy the breakfast stuff at the counter and take it to your seat yourself. So people (including us) kept asking while entering. The waitresses (two ladies) presented a mix between being annoyed with "stupid" questions of the customers and friendliness garnished with a sarcastic and at times snappy undertone here and there. They were talking about customers who left and about colleagues who were not present. Absolutely inappropriate. The interior is outdated and it doesn't look as if the place inside has experienced a make over in quite some time. It's not really a cozy place, no music no table decorations, nothing to invite you to stay longer. The service was fast and efficient, coffee was hot. The breakfast sets dont include coffee and everything has to be paid extra (packed bulk goods marmelade ) All in all not worth it and overpriced for what you get.

Nice place to have a coffee. Specially close to Zeil its a good place for a calm coffee

Quite bad experience at this Cafeteria, bad attitude towards us. What makes me uncomfortable is that the waiter asked why we stay in the seats when we have ordered a coffee to go. We just want to have a small pause and then go catch our train. Very uncomfortable experience.
