We were there the first time to see Extrawelt. Cool place but we didn’t like that people smoked inside.

Went to this club with a group of friends while on holiday in the area. My friend forgot his ID but luckily the helpful and friendly security team were on hand to permit entrance after accepting a photo of his passport. Once inside we immediately got into the mood and felt the party atmosphere. The drinks were flowing like the nearby Rhine, and I enjoyed mingling with the local coal workers that'd come to blow off some steam after a long week. Unfortunately another friend of mine twisted her ankle on the dancefloor and had to go to hospital. Essen truly deserves it's crown as having a thriving nightlife scene. Would highly recommend.

We had a lot of fun on this club! Only downside was that their bank card machine did not accept any foreign cards so we had to get cash from an ATM 10 min walking distance from the club itself.
