No visit to Erfurt would be complete without a stop at this cocktail bar that's turning 21 this weekend. Owned and run by the legendary Torsten Spuhn, only person to have won the title of German Champion of mixology three times. His creations are amazy, but he also has the gift of being able to read exactly what you want to drink.

There is no better bar - period! Starting with the surroundings of.tur astonishing city of Erfurt which can be a vibrant city at times but is certainly a even mystic area around the bar. Standing in front of the place, you immediately get the feeling of something special, which you can only grasp of you step inside the place. The bar makes the place and feels like it is the centre of it. Indeed the best places are at the bar itself, because then you get the chance to get a drink from the multiple cocktail mix world champion himself. Regardless what you feel like drinking, you will not be disappointed for sure. Although the selection is mind-blowing, with a little help what you feel like drinking, you get YOUR drink. Although you can get a beer as well - just don't. It is a cocktail bar! If you feel like wine you glean get a wine based cocktail / lingering, no problem. The best is that what you can order is reasonably priced. Also you get it in a relatively quickly, depending on how many other guests there are. I am very happy to have this bar in my hometown and although I have had the opportunity to visit other extraordinary bars like the King Cole bar, NYC, this Modern Masters stands out.

Great cocktails, lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Highly recommendable for a nice evening in Erfurt.

Do not burn the menu! The waiter keeps a schizophrenic fear to do not use a candle to read the menu. Instead of it you get a blinding flashlight. But, it was only one waiter. The others were cool and the drinks are delicious. Doesn't matter smoking. But that waiter!
