To those who are new in Düsseldorf, highly recommended to check out the history of the city at the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf. Informative and great learning experience.

Interesting museum about the history of Düsseldorf. There is a variety of historical and art objects in multiple exhibition rooms. You need at least 1 hour to see everything quickly or 2-3 hrs for a more attentive tour. Most of the information is in 2 languages: English and German. A must if you live in Düsseldorf!

This is a museum mostly dedicated to the various royal families of the area. It would be much more interesting to see the people’s history.

historical museum with a lot of info, archival materials and archaeology on the early days of Düsseldorf, with some sprinkling of contemporary art from local artists.

was okay for me.

Lovely museum - an incredible collection of art on the second floor, complemented by an extensive journey through the history of the city on the first floor. Parts of the original building decor and architecture have been preserved and are worth taking note of. All displays are annotated in both English and German, which makes this a fantastic place for tourists. Sadly, photography is not allowed, but for residents, this museum is worth repeated visits and at the amazing entry price, it is definitely worth it.

Lighting could be greatly improved, but overall, a great place to visit and natural lighting may be considerably better in summer.

I found it very interesting to follow the history of Düsseldorf. Just remember - you need at least three hours for this if you are as slow as I am :) they also have translated almost everything to English! ????
