The place is a old traditional bar with a very homely feel to it. It is one of the only places which still has live music. The place is totally friendly to tourists and expect locals to buy you an Alt. Repay that favour and make sure you do not rave on about Cologne, that is just bad juju and will not impress the locals.
All in all it is a great little place which you will not regret getting drunk in

I love this place! The fact that the place is kinda hidden give it a more peculiar feeling in finding it. I love the vibe of the place, the history of it (which was shared by the lovely people who's serving there), and most importantly the music! The musicians are very professional and entertaining, they manage to create a very lovely engaging atmosphere that keep people laughing!

I was surprised to come here. The place is awesome. The Band that played on Monday night was outstanding. The singer was amazing. Reminds me of a juke joint southern feeling. Very authentic. I highly recommend it. ????????????????????????????

Great place! They have live jazz nearly every night and the atmosphere is really amazing! It is a small place but very cozy and old fashioned.

The best Bar in Düsseldorf and one of the only places offering live music nearly every day of the week. Em Pöötzke accepts cash, EC cards, and credit cards. If you don't want to stand on Friday or Saturday, it might be a good idea to show up just before the band starts playing.

Fantastic atmosphere inside, particularly when the music gets going. However expensive drinks and - they will hate me for saying so - Papa Joe's in Cologne beats it for decoration.
