Very frustrating experience.
1. Very noisy due to bars all around
2. Furniture is broken.
3. No air conditioning
4. Door lock is not working, other guest enter your rooms during the night
5. Not clean and smells
6. No reception. And support via WhatsApp is arrogant.
7. No cold water only hot…
Strongly recommended !!!

If you want a good night's sleep, this is not your hotel. There's a club downstairs that's open till 5. So unless you come on a monday and leave on tuesday.. it's earplugs only!! the rooms are so so, don't believe the pics, that's when they opened, they can use an upgrade. The receptionist was lovely and so helpful, she gets the one star.

If you're looking for a place where to have a rest at night, this will be a very bad choice as the noise from the local street bars and discos will keep you up for the most part of the night until early morning hours.
If you want to open the hotel doors and find yourself right into the mass of mostly drunken and very loud mass of night animals, your're looking at the right hotel to enjoy that! Go for it! :-)
No hard feelings as staff was friendly and no specific comments on anything else related to hospitality too, it's just my mistake not to read the hotel reviews beforehand, but I do hope somebody else will make better advised decision.

Do not stay here if you intend to sleep. While the hotel itself is really nice, and conventionally located, it is built right on top of a night club. Seeing how Germany does not have laws regulating when clubs have to close, they go on 'till 7 in the morning. My bed was literally vibrating because of the bass.

Perhaps it was because I stayed during the weekend, but I HIGHLY recommend not staying here on a Friday/Saturday. This wasn't a case of busy streets outside your windows as often is the case with downtown hotels such as these (and which can be quite easily solved by wearing earplugs), this was a case of your entire room vibrating and shaking and you being able to hear which song they're playing downstairs, word for word.

It used be a good hotel when it was Centro Hotel Design Apart. Now it is just known as Design Apart. There is no reception at this place and usually you need to always call the contact number in your reservation to ask them to open your door, as they are not present anywhere in the hotel. In fact there is no one from the hotel ever available. The staff who sometime visits the hotel doesn’t speak English at all and not trained as well. During my stay, while I was in my room, the staff just entered without even knocking on the door. The house keeping too is not upto the mark. Only good thing about this place is the location, right in the middle of Alt Stadt (old town). Better to skip this from your itinerary.

Perfect location in oldtown and close to the river. Most interesting places in walking distance. Clean room with spacious bathroom and small, but well equipped kitchen (stowe, coffeemaker, microwave, fridge, water cooker). Good heating (important in winter time). Restaurants in the street can be louder, but it's not bad. I liked the place.

I travel for a living, and spend ~250 days out of the year in hotels. Never have I been treated as poorly as I was in this hotel.

To start, it is a dirty hotel, with lots of stairs to the reception, which is basically a small office off a dark holiday. From there, things got worse.

My company was in town for the conference, and had multiple rooms booked down the road. I booked one room here, for one night, just in case we needed another. At one point in the weeks leading up, I questioned the need to have this room, and sent a message through Orbitz, to the hotel, asking about the cancellation policy. I never heard anything back. We assumed we still had the room, and ended up needing it. Upon arrival, not only was I told that the room was cancelled, but they had no rooms. They also refused to show me any documentation showing that they received my question, and cancelled without answering me. It was a mess, and I bunked with a colleague.

I was told that the refund would come from Orbitz, but it never came. Today, I called Orbitz again and was told the hotel was now saying they kept the money, there was no cancellations allowed, even though the manager at the time said they had refunded Orbitz.

I then called the manager, and he could not have been more rude. After his 3rd “whatever,” I had enough. I am putting AMEX on the case now, but after staying in hundreds of hotels, I can say I found the pinnacle of unprofessional, dirty hotels.
