We were looking for a nice place to have breakfast in the city, but were surprised that hardly any restaurants popped up in Tripadvisor. (might be due to the time of the year, start of April)

Cafe Madrid was one of the few restaurants that were actually open that morning, and we decided to go in to see if they served anything that resembled breakfast. The owner assured us they did, and immediately helped us to a cozy table.

The inside of the restaurant looks like a classic German pub (lots of wood and copper elements on the bar) with some Spanish influences. Nice!

We were surprised (and happy) to learn that the restaurant offered a LOT of breakfast options. Sandwiches, croissants, egg-dishes, churros with chocolate sauce, etc.

I decided to order the GroBe fruhstuck (big breakfast) with a cappucino and wasn't disappointed! I got a variety of breads, cheeses, meat, sweets and roasted peppers. Exactly what I needed to start and survive a cold and rainy day.

It was simple but delicious, especially the parmezan cheese and chorizo. The coffee was good too!

I can definitely recommend this place. u003d)

not sure why this place has 4.3 stars average. we went there last Saturday, sat for 15 minutes. no waitress came to us. new guests came on the table next to us, directly served. not sure if it’s because of racism but i found it very weird. left the place after 20 min without anyone coming to us.

The food tasted nice, but I ordered a salmon with ratatouille and it came with a salad. Then I asked about the ratatouille and they gave me a red sauce with onion and capsicum.

A nice place with nice food. Tasted fine. On the other hand, the waitress gave me green ice tea which I didn’t ask for and charged me €4,50 for that

This place was nothing special sadly. We went here and they gave us a menu in English, what is good. Sadly the staff did not speak English so I got something different than what I ordered. Also kinda expensive. €4,50 for an Ice tea

Café Madrid was a wonderful restaurant to take a break from walking and enjoy some delicious food. The waiting staff speaks broken English, so prep your best German speaking abilities when you arrive. After ordering the food and drinks came out reasonably quick, especially considering the restaurant was packed when we ate. I recommend Café Madrid, it's a great restaurant to get a quick bite.
