I have really mixed feelings on this one. On one hand the collection is interesting and it has some great pieces but the poor lighting and reflective glass ruins most of the viewing enjoyment. Pictures are very difficult if not impossible on many pieces.

Dresden is a very beautiful city. The architecture has been restored very well. German porcelain is always impressive (as is Italian). Please accept my congratulations on a great collection! Collection of porcelain chess NOBLE.

To be honest, from three Museums in Dresden that I have visited (Przellansammlung, Gemäldegalerie, Grünes Gewölbe), Porzellansammlung is my favorite. It is very well curated and spaced out, so every piece has its room to be adimered by themselves. Maybe I would liked to know more about the works, how they were bought, technical things, restauration and so on. But I really loved it! It brought me a lot of joy and after leaving I wasn't tired of the amount that was presented. I felt very uplifted by the delicacy of the works and the presentation.
PS. And I don't like Meißen animal and human figures. But still very enjoyable museum.

The Dresden Porcelain Collection is the richest and most significant collection in the world. This collection totaled 35,000 examples at its peak (currently 20,000 objects, of which about 2,000 are in the museum). All this was collected by Frederick Augustus the first.

A very beautiful and incredibly rich collection of porcelain. Some instances are simply amazing and for a long time are able to attract attention to themselves. This museum can definitely be advised for a visit. As well as the other two located in Zwinger(picture collection and the hall of mathematical and physical instruments).

This museum in Dresden was unique and quite fascinating. If you want to take a break from the usual art museum, this is definitely worth checking out. You can get separate tickets or an all inclusive ticket for the porcelain museum, the math museum and the art museum for 12 euro!

One of the interesting museums to visit at Zwinger Palace is the famous Dresden Porcelain Collection, considered to one of the largest and most impressive of its kind in the world. Opening hours 10-6pm daily. Entry is €10 and includes access to all three museums at Zwinger Palace.

The Porcelain collection was founded by King Augustus II who perhaps unintentionally fostered the discovery of how to manufacture porcelain by Johann Friedrich Böttger, an alchemist turned potter under the sponsorship (or was it imprisonment) of the King. The Meissen porcelain factory was then founded and King Augustus the Strong, who greatly enjoyed delicate porcelain works, went on to amass a collection of over 20,000 pieces, many of which you can see today.

The collection was originally located in the Japanese Palace near the Elbe River but has moved a few times over the centuries. It has been housed at Zwinger since 1962. Today you will see fine Japanese and Chinese works as well as a large number of animals and other interesting pieces which you can view and photograph.

Overall, the Royal collection is a remarkable collection that is well worth viewing if you have interest in porcelain or art in general. Enthusiasts will likely consider this a must-see attraction and want to allow extra time here during visits to Dresden.
