I would personally recommend John Reed over other competitors. If you are looking for a hybrid solution, that is Body Building + Body fitness. Maybe for this reason, this Gym membership is a bit higher than the other Gyms.

Been going here for some time. Unlike most other gyms the vibe/asthetic here is pretty cozy and comfortable. I love their dim lighting. The people who work there are really nice and friendly. They have a DJ come in 2× a week, which is quite nice.
You have your cardio section, free weights, a wide range of machines - from weights to toning and classes available almost everyday.

Nice facilities and kind staff, but the worst possible experience. Notified them I was leaving in person because I was leaving Germany. Cancelled my subscription online, and told them that, since I was leaving the country I had to close my German bank accounts. They told me it was fine. Years later, after not receiving further notifications from them, I have received a statement from their representatives asking me to pay a high amount of money without a previous notification from the gym. Ridiculous.

Cool design and nice equipment and machines. Great music too! Although they could install water taps and not only vending machine. I also do not get, why there is no AC turned on during the summer (at least in the morning)? It makes it very smelly on all floors, so I really can’t imagine how smelly it gets into the day. And I do not recall AC has been turned off at that time last year. Aaaand very often it’s really messy - equipment all over the place. But I guess those are rather the people using this equipment, who did not get to learn that you should clean up after yourself.

The best decorated gym I've ever seen. Maybe it is a German thing but they need a water fountain!
