We were brought here after dark one weekday evening recently - by the city dungeon keeper! We were on a walking tour to discover the macabre side of this fascinating city. Anyway he brought us up onto the terrace and we had a chance to both gain a wonderful night time view of the river and to listen to the various medieval methods of effecting punishment of the villainous inhabitants of this fair city all those years ago.

That evening it was quite busy and it is easy to understand why. The views are fantastic.

Breathtaking scenery of the Elbe and the other side of Dresden-Alstadt. The chilling breeze make your heart go wild and calm at the same time. Lined by the Academy of Fine Arts of TU Dresden, this is a place to relax.

A terrace that gives great views of the Elbe and the city of Dresden
The terrace contains modern artworks, including some by David Cerny. The reconstructed buildings of Dresden can be seen from here, and it is well worth taking some time just to take in the surroundings here while visiting Dresden.

This point visually describes why Dresden is called Florence on the Elbe. From this point you get larger-than-life views of Dresden alt-stadt on the left side and a serene view of bridges on Elbe on the right side. This place also has an elevator for accessibility.
