This is an excellent small museum about the world around us for primary-school aged, German-speaking children; it is free upon admission to Westfalenpark (which makes entry to the park very good value). The "USP" is that everything can be touched and played with.
Children can find out about modern life in other (mainly developing) countries through a series of little places that resemble rooms in those countries: for example, a shop in Brazil; a living room in India (dressing up an option here). There are displays describing, for example, the long journey that cotton takes from source to T shirt. At the end is an usual sort of soft play (made from old fabric I think).
Informative rather than preaching. Probably less suitable for the sort of child that mainly wants to run around.
