Room could use some renovations and be cleaner. Outside noises are heard easily. The elevator is nothing for people afraid of heights as they are panoramic. The cleaning staff was very friendly. Breakfast not worth 12 EUR. As the location is excellent just a step away from the city centre there are plenty of eateries and bakeries offering a great breakfast menu.

We had already stayed at this hotel a few years ago. It's a great location: close to the main station, an underground station just outside and very close to shops and places to eat. Perfect! The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet offered a wide choice of foods. Only thing missing was a decaff option on the hot drinks front. Some sachets of instant perhaps? My husband cannot physically tolerate caffeine! I guess some could have been found if we asked. Room was clean and spacious. Nothing negative to report.

Spacious and nice room but they don’t let you have a fridge (weird for a Mercure brand!). With 2 weeks in the hotel you need to be able to use a fridge to store food… 1 plug socket for the whole room (on the other side of the room, not near the bed..). Wouldn’t change to a double bed even though the hotel was empty.

On arrival at night there was no sign for where to enter the building because there’s a construction site near the door. Walked around the whole building twice to find the door. I’m the Morning when leaving there was a sign that was not there the night before. Then the room didn’t have the basic fridge and coffee amenities. There is no covid excuse for this just laziness because other rooms had tea and coffee in the room. The curtain was ripped the sink was damaged.
I have taken photographs of everything and will be reporting the lack of quality. I have had better quality stays at ibis for half the price.

I arrived late in the evening around 10:30 PM. After getting into the room, I found that no matter what I did to the thermostat, warm air would come from the HVAC. I called reception and they said, please keep the window open!!! I was surprised to hear this from a hotel like Mercure. So had to keep the window open to cool the room down. Luckily, there wasn't any noise so did not hurt. Had to wake up in the middle of the night to close the window again since it started getting too cold.

Otherwise, nice hotel. Good breakfast, well connected to the Hbf. Hope the construction on the road in front will be done soon.

Good location but otherwise tired old hotel, long overdue complete refurbishment. Faded carpets and pictures in the halls.

No fridge in standard rooms "to save the planet," but apparently, superior room occupants are not so concerned.

No safe in rooms.

Bathroom with green and gold coloured tiles from the 70's/80's had cracked floor tiles with blackened grout from years of water on the floor.

Glasses on request, but they wouldn't deliver to room.

Body cream on request was so old that it had liquefied.

Rooms are only cleaned on request, and they don't tell you that on the reservation or at check-in. Then chambermaid knocked and opened door without waiting, despite "DO NOT DISTURB" sign.

Very poor breakfast with basic rolls and cheese/ham; allegedly broken toaster miraculously reappeared after two days of complaints but still had to ask for bread. You cannot economically repair an old toaster so it was obvious that the reason why it was withdrawn was to avoid having to put out bread. Scrambled eggs on request but no sausage (is this Germany??), bacon or beans. It's definitely not worth €14. Save money and go to one of the many coffee shops nearby.

The so called "cosy bar" is actually at reception and I never saw anyone there.

In 4 nights I only saw 2 other guests at breakfast time, which was not a big surprise.

This is a poor excuse for an Accor/ Mercure Hotel.

There has to be better value in Dortmund.

The staff and customer service here are amazing. Very friendly and make you feel like home. Thank you so much Melanie and the gentleman in charge of reception on March 27th!!

Rooms are very clean and the hotel is very well positioned if you need a place in the center with easy access to shops/ restaurants or going to the airport.
