Dortmund Airport

The security control is great and take less than 10 minute (i was on Thursday 6:30 on September).

This airport is relatively small. In order to get here by public transport, you need to take a bus since there is no direct train. The shuttle express costs 9€ and invalid for semester tickets. Therefore, I take bus number 490 in stead.

There are enough seats and the café is open. There is mini duty free as well. The toilet is well clean and good maintenance.

All and all, I think it is just a small airport and I think it is fine.

A small airport with a great and quick security check. The security check is much faster than I saw it at most airports. The walk-through scanners are a little less than the luggage check lanes, but allover the speed is very good.

The quality of the restaurants is nice and the duty free offers you a lot of choices you might already know(also Bavarian wheat beer)

As others already said before, it’s very last century, feels like a rural train station at the most. The toilets are clean at least. Nothing to eat except overprices cold sandwiches, nowhere to sit which is ridiculous since we are crammed into small airplanes anyway, why can’t we sit in our masks next to each other? Had to stand 1 hour in line and at various checkpoint places, the smell or kerozine permeated our lungs and we had to stand in our masks drowning in fuel smell. Will avoid flying from here at all costs.

Not enough seats in gates 00-02. Most of us are sitting on the cold floor or standing for hours. There are no workers here either.

Edit: Sorry, but your COVID excuse doesn't make any sense. What you're saying is "we removed the benches, so that people could be sitting right next to each other on the cold floor". What a brilliant idea.

This is a shame for Germany in 2022. I have been on many (small) airports in Europe but Dortmund is the worst. 32 degrees outside and no AC inside, we are cooking alive inside. After paspoortcheck no option to buy Any drinks and not even a vending machine. Too little places to sit, no garbage can to be found. Are you stuck in 1963 Dortmund ? Only good thing is cheap parking at the airport, all the other stuff is 1 star rating max. Even if you make the flights free i won't come again sorry.

Dirty, no place to sit, garbage everywhere, cigar butts,no wifi,the ventilation in the smoking room does not work, all the smoke goes outside.
A shame for an airport in Germany.
The employees are really kind. That's why I give 3 stars,because of them.

No soap or toilet paper in the toilets(it happens at 9 am so they simply did not care at all) what is unacceptable and also lack of facilities to buy food or drinks and not enough seats to sit down when waiting for your flight(what is common in small airports like this so I would not to complain about this). The only positive(but good to know) thing is because of the size you can get to the boarding from the entrance in 30 minutes even if you fly from the gate 11 or 12…
