We were happy to be back at Vapiano, after the reopening! However, we were quite disappointed to see that pizza is no longer available, it’s now… pinsa! It was decent, but I prefer the previous pizza options. Also, a big minus is the fact that the pasta menu is changed, the (delicious) salmon pasta is no longer in the menu ????

(UPDATE)
We came back one week ago.
First of all, i dont like the hostess‘ attitude. She’s unfriendly and seem she’s not uncomfortable or something! ????????u200d♂️!
Because of 2G and Xmas Market, so there was plenty of free seats!
Our foods were very normal. We order Chicken BBQ and they just topped BBQ sauce !
Well, disappointed!

Me and my girlfriend decided to have a dinner at Vapiano, since the restaurants in Essen closed shortly after the Pandemie. Worst decision ever.
First, the system of ordering food is completely broken, no receipts were given and the pager apparently doesn't work.
We waited 1 hour for our Pasta that never came.
The workers looked completely lost and there was a lot of dishes just standing on the pickup station and after 20 minutes they looked very dry and cold.
After such a long wait, we decided to leave.
Such a shame. We were looking forward to eat there again but we got a very bad experience.
Not recommended.

THE SYSTEM ISNT WORKING!!! Pagers don’t work !! Our food waited and got cold because of it ! We had to go to pick up place and find out that part of our food was ready already. The order part took half and hour more. AND IT IS NOT WORTH IT ! I would never come to this place again

The concept of self service and watching your food being made in front of you is great. I have to compliment the chefs working there because the dishes are amazing. Right from the interior you know it is a pasta and pizza place. Plants and herbs decorating the place gives an italian feel. My only problem is the chefs not speaking english and the long waiting lines.

Food was amazing as it always is at Vapiano but I was served my a very rude chef who shook his head at me because I was English and tried to order in German. Made my experience very uncomfortable and I won't return to this particular branch.
