This is the old part of the city of Cologne. It is only a small part of the city, located right at the banks of the Rhine River, and not far from the Cologne Carhedral. The city was totally destroyed during the second world war. What was not destroyed was catefully restored to what you see now. Though a small part of this city, the Alt Stadt has a nice village atmosphere, lots of bars and restaurants as well as plenty of entertainment. It is a great place to go out to, have a meal, a drink or simply some relaxing and enjoyable time.

Amazing views of the Rhine River. Best time to visit is during sunset so that you can stay a little longer and enjoy the night view also.

Visiting family in nearby Gelsenkirchen. Köln (specially the area around the central train station) is a great area for families and couples alike. Lots of great places to walk by and enjoy the great scenery. However, parking a vehicle is understandably hard and expensive due to the popularity of the area.

A popular area for everyone visiting Cologne. The Rhine is a wide river with gorgeous bridges and views of the Cathedral. This area is filled with bars and icecream shops. It also backs onto Old Town and is perfect for lunch and dinner. This should be on the list for every Cologne traveller. A perfect place to hang out and enjoy the Rhine and Cologne!

Lovely scenery...best view eateries along the Rhine... You can visit the cathedral , take a walk here, enjoy a quick bite or brunch and once you are fueled up, you can now go to the market and shop your heart out.... I think the location is amazing and super reachable to enjoy your weekend out with friends...
