My go-to store when buying books, gifts or anything “Köln“. Impressive variety of “stuff”, now also including a coffee shop on the top floor.

This is a fine store full of books, board games, and just general toys for kids. I don't usually read much because I can't really find books I wanna read. Low and behold, I bought a book!

Easily the best bookstore in Köln.
Wide range of book choices.
Helpful u0026 hardworking staff.
The small reading area is so comfy that u never realise the time passing by until hours later.
Maybe some sort of membership card would be a good initiative. Like after every 20 books bought, one book free. Or discounted price if its your birthday.
Or recommendations on which book u should read next(based on your recent books read) just like with YouTube.
It would be amazing if there could be events, like a special ''International Week'' where Authors could be invited and talk about their books and answer questions etc.
P.S : Kuddos to the dedicated Team at the Café who contributes in spreading a jovial atmosphere.

Beautiful bookstore with such a wide variety of books and magazines and even toys for kids. There is a section for kids to play while you shop for things. I was there shopping for international books and for German books. I loved it here definitely would go again!

What can I say: it's a book shop on two floors, with books, games, knick-knack, calenders, cards, audiobooks and toys and the occasional titbits.
However, the second floor also has a lounge area _and_ an English section. The latter is mainly for adult readers, but the YA section isn't too bad either. For children's books you'll have to get down to knee hight and rummage through the somewhat crammed and less well presented selection.
You can order to pickup and the third floor has a tea/coffee shop to sit in.
Being close to the centre of the city means it's hardly ever empty and weekends are particularly popular.
Update: the children´s section for English children´s books has been moved to the Children´s book section and is sorted into a shelf labled "English books".

Here is the biggest bookstore in Köln with various kinds of books, magazines, stationery, toys, etc. The mood and atmosphere are amiable, and it is so easy to approach there.
