I went to have breakfast and in addition to my vaccination certificate, the attendant also asked for my passport, even though I live in Germany and I have a German certificate. First and last time I come to the place. It's amazing that for the time I was here, besides her not wearing a mask covering her nose, she also didn't ask for anyone else. it is not allowed to apply for a passport in Germany to buy coffee.

This is a branch of the popular Merzenich bakery. They had freshly baked Weckmann breads which I couldn't resist buying, which also looked so cute it was a shame to have to bite into it. I also got a Berliner doughnut, basically a jam doughnut. Not sure why it’s called a Berliner, but meh.

Overall, the bakery is good and the coffee decent.

Where should I start :-(
Depressing ambient music, nothing tastes differently than a discount market, all workers are innerly resigned. This place needs a renovation, urgently! It's sad to see a traditional place dying!
We gave now another try, but I am very sorry. In our last visit I was shocked. The tap in the kitchen broke and water started to go everywhere. And the workers didn't even care that much. I highly recommend not coming in here.

Great place, very good food. Portions of drinks (for example, coffee) can be larger though.
