The hotel is in the main tourist area of Cologne with brewery's on 50 m walking.
The hotel is modern, no staff, check in by app on your phone, the room was good with great view, bed are good, but there is no airconditioning and we had 35°C so it was very hot in the room.

The location of the hotel was perfect! And the price was very fair. Also the way they portray themselves on the web was very good! I liked the contact-free check-in (as an idea).

On the downside: the rooms were not really as in the pictures. I mean they have grown old…and did not really resemble the pictures any longer.

Also they were not super clean, some hairs remained in the shower, spots
on the floor, spiders/webs and dust on the ceiling…having a wife that’s afraid of spiders didn’t help.

As for the check-in this was terrible. We booked via BOOKING.COM and got several mails, I believe at least 5 or 6. All with different type of information and in some cases double..I value that they want to present you full and clear info..but this was just too much…

I hoped to find some info on parking but that was the one email I didn’t seem to receive…

Check out was at 12, but at 10 cleaning came knocking on our door.

All with all 2 stars, mainly due to location and potential to improve.

Hotel right in the centre of cologne, looks quite new. Check in is on a machine instead of a desk, so that can be hard to grasp at first.

Awful. Dirty. Old, badly maintained, scabby room. Had to leave. Was never contacted by owners following my formal complaint. Ignored to this day about this horrible experience.

This hotel has quite a few pros and cons

Pros:
- the location is very good, everything in the city is nearby and easily accessible
- the room is very nice and cozy
- the bathroom has environmentally conscious messages on the soap bottles and the shower is spacious enough and cozy
- the matrass is AMAZING, I slept great

Cons:
- this hotel is not ready to call itself a contact free hotel. We had a LOT of trouble checking in, we received a stressful mail while traveling to the hotel that our reservation would be cancelled if we didn't pay before 6pm that day even though I had talked to the staff before about not being able to pay beforehand. I was guaranteed that I could pay with my card at the hotel, but this was not true. I had to pay with mastercard online, but I couldn't do that, so I was told I could pay with PayPal but was charged more for transactions costs while this was not said beforehand. Because there is no staff at the hotel, I had to call the reception quite a few times before I finally received my room card, after being told by the check-in machine that we could not enter our room, for no reason at all.
- there is no knee space whatsoever on the toilet. Also, since the rooms get cleaned according to how long your stay is, it's very possible to run out of toilet paper, and if you don't find a cleaner who you can ask for a new roll, you're out of luck.
- there is no fridge. A mini fridge would be handy.

All in all we've had a pleasant experience but there were a few bumps in the road that could have be ironed out.

This is honestly an odd place. I thought that the contact free check in would be simple - it was not. You still end up having to call. It's a nice set up and decent price in a good location, but not having reception didn't make me feel particularly safe.

This was really so when someone (this is not a joke) came into my room at 15.00 with a key card and used my WC then left.

I honestly can't say I'd be willing to stay here again.

Location is perfect. There is no one stationed at the hotel, so do not expect much of human touch service. make sure that you have the checkin app and the reservation ID ready. I had a little problem getting my reservation ID, but the chat service was very quick to response and help me out. Appreciate that! The room is spacious and clean and the hardware is pretty good. However, if u have a room which is facing the square, it could be quite loud throughout the night. But overall it’s still a pleasant experience.
