Best ever discovery of this trip. We picked up the hotel from booking but didn't expect the rooms to be so nice, very large screen, all the place pretty new. The breakfast also very rich and very good. As last and probably the most important, the staff at reception outstanding. Highly suggested.

Just back from a fabulous break in Cologne. Hotel Freiheit was perfectly situated, our room quirky, well laid out, with a super comfy bed with the added bonus of a balcony overlooking the Rhine. The staff were friendly and helpful, Directing us to the Lanxess Arena which was literally 5 mins walk away! Would highly recommend and we will definitely return

All the workers here are super friendly.
There is enough English speaking employees such that it is easy to get around.

My room was extremely clean and tidy. Beautiful hardwood floors.
Although it did get pretty hot in the middle of the day, that's when most people will be out anyways.
There isn't many power outlets, but there is an electronics shop next door for power splitters if nessasary.

Location is excellent across street from river, can see giant cathedral from the dining room, 2 tram lines right out door. Really close to the lanxess arena too.

The included breakfast is great, with excellent variety of choices, hot coffee, and excellent orange juice.

If I ever go to ESL Cologne again I will definitely stay here again. I will also consider coming here for gamescon.

Overall impression is ok, it is not the best hotel, in which one will ever sleep. Free WiFi is available, but it is not too fast. It is generally clean here, sheets, pillows and blankets could have been fresher. Breakfast was also OK.

I think that is expemsive for the quality of the hotel. The photos in the web are nice but the bedrooms aren t. Is not very very clean

Great little hotel. Very friendly staff and good breakfast (lots of chocolate!!).

Room 40 the best room, big, spacey, clean, have a decent when and decorated in ferrari style.
