Das stadtgeschichtliche Museum ist leider wenig empfehlenswert, nur knappe Vignetten, die keine Geschichte erzählen. Die Skulpturensammlung der Gotik ist allerdings hervorragend, unbedingt einen Nachmittag wert und kann mit anderen großen Sammlungen (wie z.B. Köln oder Würzburg) gut mithalten. Ein Höhepunkt: das heilige Grab aus St.Jacobi! Schön auch die allgemeine Präsentation im z.T. (modern) wiederaufgebauten Kreuzgang! Definitiv ein Höhepunkt meines Chemnitzbesuches.

Wirklich schönes Museum. Sonderausstellung (Wende) war klasse gemacht. Das Gebäude ist toll saniert und strahlt wirklich ein schönes Flair aus. Die Ausstellung zur Stadtgeschichte oben ist sehr sehenswert und das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Neben Ermäßigungen gibt es für einige Personen (z. B. Studenten der TU Chemnitz) kostenlosen Eintritt. Schade, dass das Museum eher unbekannt zu sein scheint. Trotz perfektem Museumswetters waren wir praktisch allein. Hat mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient wie ich finde.
