I work at a magazine and we found that place a few weeks before doing a shooting with Hollywood actor Luke Evans. He is into music now, so the piano atmosphere totally fittet our idea for the shoot. We got in touch with the location and the people are super friendly, but in a Kreuzberg way. The pics I attached here are professionally taken by our photographer during the shooting. But it would look good with my Smartphone as well ;). Now, we are often after work here and it really is a neighborhood bar, which looks fancy but also has a soul. I very often see couples there, because with the restaurant plus the separate bar area, it is kind of perfect for dates. Due to the fact, that there was an owners change or something a few months ago, they are experimenting with the place a lot in the moment. And if you are visiting, it might be worth it check out, if they have special events scheduled. Just talk to the people and enjoy a good Whiskey Sour (or whatever you fancy, the barkeeper is good in designing special drinks according to your taste)!

Great atmosphere, awesome food. I would advise to drink cocktails, not wine. The bar downstairs is a must visit, it is very cosy and the cocktails are professional.

Best drinks in the city. It's a speak easy, so later on in the evening you have to ring a little door bell to get downstairs to the bar. It's an italian restaurant that's closed, so don't be surprised when you get there! It's normal, just ring the gold little buzzer, and one of the guys will come get you. I've been going here for about 2 years now, and every single time I've gone I've been a happy customer. Delicious cocktails, terrific service, it's just an awesome vibe in there.

When I go, it's usually with my girlfriend, or with a bunch of friends. Regardless of the type of night, beginning or end of the evening, this is an awesome place to chill, have great conversation, and enjoy delicious drinks.

Sometimes they also have live music, and funny story: One night I was there enjoying my drink, and I hear music playing. I look up and it's a friend of mine, from the US, that I had in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Hilarious, but this is the only place I could imagine that happening.

New owners made an original place an incredibly nondescript and boring experience. The Food tastes as flat as the elevator music in the background. Everything here looks like nobody here actually tried hard enough. Drinks menu is sad too.
Two stars because it is all edible (except for the hummus dip which tasted like armpits), but seeing such unimaginative execution of a spanish tapas place in central Berlin will hopefully result in another owner change very soon.

The bar is downstairs, below the restaurant. There's no cocktail menu, so instead your host creates a cocktail to your taste. I recommend giving them the types of drinks and flavours you would enjoy, but let the bar tender give it their own twist.

Restaurant: 3 stars (review of the basement bar is below and gets 5 stars) Lovely atmosphere marred by owner's money-grubbing approach and aloof service. Food varies from delicious to completely burned. Still we had a lovely time as a classical guitarist walked in and entertained us beautifully for half an hour.

Bar: 5 stars. Elegant and comfortable Victorian/Edwardian decor. Fabulous made-to-measure cocktails. The barman (sorry - mixologist) chats with you then goes off and constructs a special drink based on his impressions. No two drink the same and you can never have the same drink twice. :) On the expensive side but worth it.

Great drinks, great time and nice furniture
