I've been going to this gym for years now. I would say the facilities are okay. It's supposed to be a premium gym and I pay a premium price for it but the service is pretty average. The staff are mostly pretty friendly

It get's the job done but there are problems:

- It is unbearably hot in summer. The is no air conditioning or ventilation (despite having a drop ceiling that would allow for it) not even a fan. The only air in and out is from the windows and there are no windows in the locker rooms and bathrooms which can feel like 40 degrees a 99% humidity and also smells terrible. Some people even close the windows which I find insane. I'm from Australia, that's a hot country but I've never been in a gym as hot and uncomfortable as this one.

- A lot of the equipment is broken and never seems to get repaired. Not only the workout machines but also the lockers in the locker room.

- Despite having an English name and website, many of the staff don't speak English and the sign up process was only in German

- As well as a lack of maintenance, there is a lack of tidying and cleaning. The weights are never put back where they should be and the staff don't seem to care about that. There is also often messes that are left unclean. I have even seen the toilet covered in feces and once even covered in blood.

To summarize, it's an okay gym. It certainly doesn't compare to any other gyms I have paid less for in Australia but unfortunately the bar is pretty low in Germany and I haven't been able to find something better yet

Think there's way better value for money elsewhere now. They increased my monthly cost by 50% recently and they hardly do any classes anymore, not even virtual ones. It thinks it's way cooler than it is with its djs and fake graffiti, all style and no substance. On the plus side the staff are friendly, the equipment is decent and they have a women's section.

Going there for years now. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere allows for individual, safe and nice training for both men and women, from what I can tell. The music most times was nice, at times they brought DJs that would play sexist stuff a little too much for my taste. They sadly often have broken machines that stay broken for a while. And during hot months the air inside is stuffy.

It was good until I tried to quit. Predatory behaviour. John Reed is the type of company to secretly keep a tab on you without billing you directly for 4 years. Then finally they send a debt collector to collect their dues.

After leaving the country 4 years ago. Not a single email from John Reed about billing, or a charge to the credit card. None had changed. Definitely didn't visit in 4 years. Yet, out of the blue they want money?

I'm assuming this is a business model where they prey on those that don't speak german. Perhaps when I told the guy that I was leaving forever he didn't register it down in my account because I spoke in English. Perhaps he just said 'yes' but didn't do anything. Perhaps JOHN REED is low on money due to covid and so now they use any scam possible to obtain cash.

It's a good gym as long as you use it. When you want to stop here starts the problem, and it's not a small one.

They literally ignore most of messages for cancelling the contract. When they do respond, it's conviniently after the cancellation period ends, and then you have to continue to pay an entire extra year.

I am personally very disappointed. I supported this club throughout covid times and didn't cancel my period even when the club was closed. I treated the club with respect and care, and it's very unfortunate how they treat their customers when they want to leave.

absolutely the worst place to workout in summer. even in the evening when the temperatures drop you enter the gym and immediately feel like you're suffocating (not being hyperbolic here). even though the windows are wide open there is no air flow inside the gym and they obviously don't care to invest in a AC (or if they have a AC they don't bother turning it on). rest of the gym experience is standard John Reed/MCFIT, not much to expect but honestly for the money you pay you get better service in other low cost gym in the city!

I got used to not very clean machines and areas, I got used to not very friendly staff, but when I went to the upper floor (where toxic masculinity vibe is and men who train there consider it 'their' area) - it was the final point for me. HORRIBLE experience alltogether.
The one toxic-masculinity-man did not want to give me the equipment I needed to train, another one was staying extremely close to me and training, and was making weird noises (moaning), making it super uncomfortable for me to continue training there. Now I understand clearly why there is 'womens' area in this fitness club. To protect women from these creeps.
