DO NOT RENT HERE. My rental went from 213 Euro to over 600 euro because of a software glitch, and they couldn’t fix it at the location.
I rented an Opel last weekend for three days to be returned 2pm on the holiday Monday. It was 71 Euro a day which was kinda expensive, but I needed the car to I rented it. On Monday I had to extend the rental to 3PM on Tuesday so I logged onto the app to extend the rental. It quoted 121 euro which seemed insane for an additional day and an hour, but I needed it that extra day and hour so I accepted. The app didn’t give me a confirmation, and when I tried to log back in it didn’t let me with my confirmation code. I figured it was a glitch and would fix it at the location.
When I returned it yesterday, the charge was OVER SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. Somehow in their system it repriced EVERY day of my rental at 121 euro, and charged me an additional two days for the one day one hour. My three day 71 per day rental, went to 5 days at 121 euro. So essentially they charged me about 400 euro for one day one hour.
I rent a lot of cars. I’ve never had an experience like this.
To SIXT: The guy at the counter in Fredrichshain said maybe his manager could fix the charge, but he’s out of town until Thursday and would have to charge me. I’m posting this review now, but if the situation can be fixed I’ll be happy to delete this review.
