Worst bar and most unprofessional bartender ever ! We are visiting Berlin and went there tonight even though we read the bad comments on Google but we wanted to give it a try and make our own opinion of this place but it turned out to be our worst experience in Berlin ! The bartender is totally unprofessional and terribly rude ! We were waiting to order and we witnessed him treating customers with such despise that he even ignored some of the customers’ orders and pretended not to hear or understand what they were ordering. Upon seeing this, we immediately left this place which is definitely full of negative vibes !

The bar is pure magic ,the person in entrance was polite ,smart and welcomed us in a really friendly way but..
Dear Mr bartender, we all have issues but we don't express them to people around us with no serious reasons.
We visit the bar and had a round of drinks having great time , planning to stay for at least three more rounds .
And suddenly you didn't served us an other round ,why?
Because as you mentioned I didn't tipped on the first round.
I took it as a joke of course and said that I learned my lesson now and what can I do to redeem.
And you replied showing me the Exit (?)
We are on holidays and decide to go somewhere else instead of bothering with an problematic person and leave with no trouble but showing my discomfort putting my empty glass upside down.
And you up fingered me and my friends on our exit . !
Clearly you have issues and you need help. But the bar doesn't need to pay the consequences.
Good luck and hope you get your lesson one day and don't behave your customers again this way .
Furthermore you don't accept credit cards and you don't give receipt for your medium quality cocktails but you demand the customer to pay for your unwritten laws.
This is a kind of fascism in a gay bar and makes this space miserable.
It was the saddest experience of our visit in Berlin especially in a place like that.

Though a quirky little bar, the bartenders prey on you.
I ordered a Gu0026T, and the bartender kept my 50-euro note with no sign of giving me change. When I protested, he eventually gave me back some change, which I then realised it was 5 euro short. Very encouraging seeing people having had the same experience, as I did feel like a fool.
Visit once if you will, but carry loads of change with you: pay with the exact amount and make them work for any tip. One of the worst customer service experiences I've had.

I’ve been to Roses so many times. Tonight was the last. Aesthetically it is gorgeous. One would presume it to be a utopia of gay life and inclusivity. But it’s the opposite. Half the bar is straight men picking up women. It may as well be an Outback Steakhouse from former East Germany. Even the bartenders are hitting on the women and begging for tips. The whole place is reproducing the stratified class and bro hierarchy of our outside world inside the bar.

The bouncer is rude, but we got inside and enjoyed there. Beautiful red carpet walls and crazy funny people!

BEWARE!
After reading the reviews we decided that Roses offered one of the best nights ‘in town’. Depending were you are it’s a fair trek, we thought it would be worth the while.

Oh wow, how wrong we were!

The door staff are incredibly discriminating. This is not a bar that you are welcome, unless you are a ‘big (well built), overtly gay, German, and most worryingly MALE. If you are female or not presenting as a stereotypical gay male, OH and any other nationality (doesn’t matter if you can speak German) do not think you are getting past the discriminating door man.

He will however, let you pass should you conform to his stereotype.

I would in contrast recommend Zum schmutzigen Hobby - they are the exact opposite- welcoming, inclusive and none judgmental.

If you want a good night in Berlin, avoid this bar.

Used to be a cool fun inclusive bar, been there many times and had a great time, but today the bouncer was pretty rude, it's really a pity, but i won't come back after this experience
