3 stars for the authenticity of the place and welcoming host. Tasty bear but we got unlucky with the food of our choice:
Potato soup and Currywurst where bellow any limits even for a hungry couple

Great drought beer selection, sunny outside area (autumn), friendly wait staff. Coming back to try the food later.

A nice local biergarten with friendly service and decent food. Enjoyed the schnitzel for dinner here sitting in the outdoors in summer. Very cozy environment that is popular with the locals, located just outside the Berlin-Grunewald train station. The lady at the bar speaks a little English but I got by with my very limited German. Recommended if you're in the Grunewald area.

Super cosy Biergarten and super friendly staff.
My new local favorite, the food I tried so far was very good, all very reasonably priced.
When our daughter dropped (and broke) her glass ice cream bowl, the waiter cleaned up the mess with a smile, meticulously searching for shards as he was concerned about the paws of visiting dogs, and brought a new ice cream (with a new lolly)... simply lovely people

Some friends and I were there last weekend and left pretty disappointed/even shocked: After 10-15min waiting, nobody would come to take our order, so that we had to go inside the bar. There we waited some more time to be attended, to the point that a waitress who had noticed us a while ago overtly refused to take our order and told the other waitress to do so. She was probably stressed, but we found it very rude. Then the second waitress who finally took the order (although only for two of us) said very loud that "people should order from the tables", obviously referring to the fact that we were breaking that unwritten rule. Other guests were coming to the bar as well, probably after waiting for too long, just like us...
Hot chocolate was good, but definitely not worth this painful service experience!
