Edit: Wow, incredibly rude owners ???? see their reply to my review here. Poor things must be so unhappy with themselves. Please, do not give them your custom. Changed to 1 star because of a tooootal lack of professionalism. Perhaps if the owners spent less time getting angry yon google reviews their service might be better. The waitress was so grumpy she broke a glass in anger. Maybe she's underpaid and under-appreciated.

Original: Three points for convenient location, clean toilets, and reasonable pricing and ok food.

I should have read the other reviews and defensive replies. As others have said, aggressive and rude service, even by Berlin standards. Very slow even though it’s not busy, it’s all self service, and it’s a typical menu of Bratwurst, Flammkuchen and Pommes. We waited 30 minutes with a fabulous view of dirty dishes sitting in the window the whole time! Either they're understaffed or just have no clue about customer service (@the owner: I certainly don't put my dishes in a window for over half an hour for everyone to see, that's for sure, but you're the ones who run a restaurant, maybe tell your staff to clear it regularly).
Being close to the highway, thankfully the bad music is drowned out somewhat by the droning of the traffic.

I’d love to see a place like this serving up some tasty dishes using the wild mushrooms from the forest!

Terrible customer service. Totally rude attendants. They don't have the slightest bit of politeness. "Thank you" and "please" do not exist here. The lives of these poor attendants must be pretty bitter for them to want to take out their unhappiness on customers. It's ok to be a self-service establishment, but a little politeness is essential. Your "Hello" or "Good day" will not be answered. Also don't ask questions, as they will be answered with a lot of irony and chuckles.

Although it wasn't super crowded, the service lady was unfriendly and our food took what felt like an eternity (around half an hour for 1 fried potatoes). By it self, the place looks nice and the prices are ok. Self-service only. Still, for some reason, one lady was attended at her table... Good for a quick refreshing drink after walking around the forest.

It's a bit hard to describe the atmosphere of the small cafe / restaurant, because it could be cozy but it is not - sounds odd but there you go. We only had a coffee after a long walk in January but the menu offers a few more small meals. The cake was gone at 3.30 pm which is a bit strange and the cappuccino was mediocre. We got warm because of the nice oven - that's probably the best thing that happened. Staff was very friendly and the dogs are welcome. It's OK for a quick visit when you are around.

It's strong point is being on the way from the Grunewald station to the Grunewald Forest, and that the sun was shining.
Not so great are: location (next to a highway), inexistant service and low-quality fare. The salad was drenched in sauce, but hardly rinsed as there was plenty of sand left.
