For a few years I've been suffering with recti diastasis , I've seen many doctors who have advised me to either lose weight since I still looked 6 months pregnant, be more active or go to physical therapy. This being said, I am 55kg /167cm therefore weight loss would be unhelpful and prior to moving to the city I used to train horses. I've been mocked by several doctors that my posture is similar to one of an elderly lady and should work on it. Due to the severity of pain with recti diastasis and lack of abdominal muscle strength, it was impossible for me to stand up straight. After a while I simply gave up and decided to cope with the pain since no doctor would take me serious, I even stopped going for other issues such as taking off for mild sicknesses as it would always turn into the doctor making some sort of comment towards my posture or pregnant looking tummy, calling this the cause of my issue, I was utterly depressed at one point. It wasn't until one afternoon last year I got rather emotional as a gentleman in the train offered me his seat as no pregnant lady should be standing, I simply had enough and my husband suggested I try to look for a cosmetic surgeon to fix it. It took me about 2 months to gain enough courage,make the first phone call and make an appointment. In February I had the first appointment, I made many excuses not to go but my husband pushed me in the right direction. I was expecting to be once again rediculed however Dr Rippmann was the first doctor to take me serious and said he would be able to fix everything. I was really shocked and it it seemed like dream. I called roughly 2 weeks later to confirm I would want to go ahead with the surgery and about 3 days later, I received all the documents via post to sign and read up plus an appointment for surgery about 2 months later. Now I am only 11 days post surgery however already extremely happy with the results. I can already stand up straighter despite still healing, I can eat without feeling sick, my stomach already looks much better. I have no words to describe how grateful I am for what Dr Rippmann has done. I look forward to seeing and feeling more results as I heal.
