I'm rating this 4/5, because it's actually a quite decent stay. The hotel, though in bad shape in the hallways, had a very nice room. It seemed like it had just been renovated. The beds, though bunk beds, were surprisingly good and could fit two people if they like cuddling.

Breakfast was also good, everything considered. We were unfortunate, at our stay, that they've forgotten to plug in the heater for the hot food. I'd stay here again if I visited Berlin on another occasion.

Its all little over a block away from the closest underground stop. So if you’ve never been it can be a little daunting to find. Map your walking route before you go. It’s on the east side so the area does have a sketchy feel to it. The hotel is very old so the elevator is very small and doesn’t go all the way to the top. So carrying your suitcase half way up the stairs can be a little challenging if it’s heavy. The room was fairly clean and large enough that 3 people staying didn’t feel cramped at all.The lock on the door is just a regular key lock and there are no safes in the rooms so don’t leave anything valuable inside. The breakfast was great and definitely worth it. There is internet access in the rooms. Not that many good eating places close by.

Staff were unfriendly, they barely spoke English and made very little effort to be understood. They did not want to return the deposit for the key. The rooms lack basic amenities such as a kettle and powerpoints in some cases. We had no hot water for half of our stay and a power outage. Free coffee was literally the only enjoyable part of our stay.

We had a clean and spacious room in the 5th floor. The elevator worked only to the 4th floor. We ordered a room with three beds. It had a nice balcony. Good breakfast but a limited choice. Big and clean bath room no sink on the floor no bath tube. No refregrator unfortunately. Heating was good. Staff were kind and helpful. Totally we satisfied.

I really liked the hotel, the staff was really kind and the facilities were great. We stayed in a room clean and comfortable, I liked the big windows. All days cleaning and breakfast included. There is the TV, WiFi, private bathroom, towels, soap, hairdryer.

It's a no star granny's hotel. There's nothing to like here. I paid just a few Euros less than a classy 4 star hotel just for the location but already regretted it the moment I entered (couldn't) the shared building. ### internet is unusable and everything is filtered! Horrible shower, bedding, ... No elevator at all for the 5th floor.

Overall only for one night is tolerable but because I'm tired!

The location of the hotel is ok as it's close to checkpoint Charlie. Could do with an upgrade in the rooms as it feels very dated. No coffee making facilities in the room and the Wi-Fi doesn't work. The beds are comfortable and the room are spacious but it feels very old and secluded.
