We had a lovely couple of nights here. Yes, the hotel is a bit old, but our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was really friendly and ready to help at all times. Location is okay, close to streets with shops and restaurants, but it's half an hour by bike to the actual centre of Berlin. Plus point: a bike store with rental options is a few meters away!

Upgraded to a suite, which was nice. Had to wait until 2:00 pm to check in... as published, but still a bummer. The place is clean, but old. Breakfast was good, but not complimentary. Front desk could not cash a 20 for the vending machine, which was also a bummer.

It's ok for the price. Rooms are not the best but clean with TV and free WLAN. Also it is at night pretty quiet and you can have your window open unlike in other hotels in the city. If you want to stay in an upscale place then you are wrong here.

First rooms have not air conditioning.
So you must to open the window to breathe and there lies the disaster.
The sounds and noise of cars start early in the morning and this causes restlessness in sleep.
Plus cigarette smoke coming from smokers in adjacent rooms

The hotel is a ok hotel, located in the fine neighbourhood of Stiglitz, with plenty of restaruants, bar and now, in the summer, nice terraces for al fresco dining. Rooms are ample enough but not big, especially if you get one of the rooms that look over the backyards of the houses. That will be quiet indeed. The hotel however is old, old carpets, old doors and bathrooms etc so not especially modern or recently refurbished at all. That is not a showstopper for me, but was what I liked the least. However, if you don't care about such details, the hotel is good enough. Room smelled somewhat funny on the first day, but since you can actually open the windows (bonus for that in this age of silly safety regulations), that was fixed on the first day. The only problem is that you will need to rely on longish train trips to get to the center. Wifi is free and it worked well in my room.

Service from reception was good enough, although I had to interact little with them.

Friendly staff, good price for location.
Beds were incredibly uncomfortable, so bad that I was waking every 30 minutes or so, ended up sleeping in the bath with bedding as it was the only way I could sleep for longer than half an hour! Room was too hot and stuffy and had to sleep with the balcony door propped open!

Beware!
Hotel charged my credit card despite cancellation in accordance to hotel policy.
Contact with call center horrible, nobody answers. No answer to my emails, no reaction to return money request. Thieves.
Bank contacted, as well as credit card company. Hope this hotel will not get any more chance to steal money from quests.
