I don't doubt that this is the best Thai restaurant in Berlin. After all, it's across the street from the Thai embassy (as they say). But it often seems as though you have to be the Ambassador himself to get served here. Dokmai Thai has broken our hearts. We arrived excited to have good Thai food. We are observed by the waiter as we wait politely, casting a glance at the free table. After several minutes of rambling conversation with other diners, he comes to pass by us, and stops momentarily as we ask whether we can be seated. He casually answers no, they will not seat any more guests tonight. He is not overly concerned that their posted hours indicate they are still open, or that other diners are still enjoying their dinners, but instead just no we are not cooking any more tonight, goodnight. I suppose that when you're the best Thai restaurant in Berlin you can afford to be very choosy about who you serve and when you decide to close!

UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLY Good. We have been there a couple times - the first time we ordered off the menu and it was OKAY - not the best of the best, but okay. At that time the food was fairly German-ized Thai and as such was similar to some other good Thai available elsewhere in the city. The second time we went, we did not order off the menu. Instead we asked the owner if she would prepare something not on the menu, and to please make it traditional Thai. This second time was one of the best meals I have ever had, anywhere, of any type of cuisine. The ingredients in both cases were fresh and authentic Thai. I recommend this restaurant in the strongest terms, and only hope that I don't have to compete for table space with you when you take my advice and decide to dine there. Bar none- fantastic, 5 star experience.

The worst ever experience. Food is awful, delivery was in one and half hour, although promised in 50 min. A soup was 90% liquid. Fish was cold. Everything is unreal spisy. Don't recommend.

One of Berlin's best restaurants. The house specials are among the best I ever had, even better than most you will find in Thailand.

Incorrect delivery order. Recieved tofu instead of chicken pad thai

You can´t beat it. This is one of the best thai places I have ever been to outside Thailand! Here you get proper thai food and not the european version of it. I moved away from the area but have to go back regularly for my thai food fix!

Excellent Thai restaurant. The Massaman curry is amazing, as is the Tom Kha Gai soup. Go hungry, the portions are substantial.
