I had multiple uncomfortable u0026 troublesome experiences at this hotel (I stayed early September 2022).
1) I arrived on time at check-in time, checked in as normal and staff told me my room was ready and they gave me key card. As soon as I entered my room, I was taken aback. The room was disheveled u0026 dirty. It appeared as if someone was living there. I immediately left and went to the lobby. The lobby told me it turns out cleaning staff had yet to clean the room. They apologized and I said it's OK, can they clean it now or is there another room available? I had just completed a 6hr travel journey u0026 was ready to rest, but I was understanding as mistakes happen. The front desk told me they would clean the room. I didn't mind waiting for a bit. Finally, 1.5-2 hours after check-in (mind you I had to inquire as to the room's progress, they did not keep me updated), room was ready. I went into my now clean room, closed and locked the door, u0026 then 5 mins later, SOMEONE ENTERED MY LOCKED ROOM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. It was the cleaning staff dropping off pen/paper. Now, in most cases the little details are nice, however it was entirely unacceptable that hotel staff told me my room was ready u0026 THEN PROCEEDED TO ENTER with no knocks. I was shaken up as I was a solo female traveler, but I still was forgiving as again, sometimes mistakes happen. HOWEVER, that was just the beginning of an uncomfortable time at this hotel.
2) As an apology gift for the late check-in, the hotel comped my breakfast for my stay. Note I was fully appreciative of the gesture. However in retrospect I wish they hadn't because it was one of the most awkward experiences I have had traveling. My first morning there, I went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast, but the restaurant manager kept asking me to pay because I was apparently not on his list. I told them about the agreement with the lobby, but he kept insisting on payment. I said I would clear things up, so I went to the lobby and explained the miscommunication u0026 the receptionist told me do not worry and to eat breakfast, and she would talk with him. Assuming all was sorted out as promised, I ate my breakfast u0026 left when I was done. However--the hotel manager RAN AFTER ME OUT OF THE RESTAURANT SCOLDING ME FOR PAYMENT. It was embarrassing u0026 unprofessional. Especially to be blamed for the hotel's error AGAIN. The lack of communication between staff was astounding. I technically had a free breakfast my second morning, but honestly I was scared of a repeat situation so I just did not go.
3) As an aside from the poor experiences with staffing and hotel organization--the room itself was uncomfortable and unsanitary. The single room (I was traveling alone) has a shower u0026 sink immediately NEXT TO BED. The floor got wet/musty. It was gross as there was no ventilation.
