The staff was nog very friendly the bed pillow was too soft to comfortably sleep on. The room itself was decent but the shower drain was clogged.

Awesome location and the house has lots of charm. Unfortunately some of the cheaper rooms have outdated locks which in 2022 is unacceptable.

For the price unbeatable, clean,safe place right in the city.very thin walls makes it a bit hard to sleep when your neighbors talk true the night.

This hotel is great, if you are in the right mood. Imagine you are in a Soviet KGB safe house during the cold war in Berlin, and you will have fun.

The front door is locked; you press the doorbell and a buzzer opens the door. Immediately behind the door are two floors of old wooden steps with thick brown carpet. The receptionist was a middle-aged Russian lady, who is friendly enough. Free WiFi is included.

The room I was put in was enormous, old, and with an extremely high ceiling. There was an old stained sofa. However, generally the room and bed were very clean, as was the small bathroom with shower. Despite being on the main street, there was no problem with noise (windows closed due to cold weather).

Breakfast was standard European continental fare; it was fine. Some of the other guests also seemed to speak Russian.

Overall, I can understand why some people might hate this hotel. It's not for families or people looking for luxury. But it did the job, and it is in a very good location near a station with plenty of good restaurants nearby.

There is a club in the same building, my room was above it and the music was so loud I was not able to sleep till 4am even with earplugs. Room smells like cigarette smoke.

Doesnt deserve one star. DONT GO HERE. I left earlier, lost the money but kept my sanity. Smelled of cigarettes, comfort single room has no comfort at all. Bathroom was clean, but the room itself wasn't, there was food under my bed. The lady was ok, but not super friendly. Just want your money. I was next to the breakfast room and people were in and out in the night and morning so only slept for 4 hours or so. Pillow was horrible, had to sleep on a pile of my sweaters. No lift so don't bring a heavy bag either. Beautiful building going to waste! The area is nice but you can find better options. Please do yourself a favor.
