Holiday Inn Berlin - Centre Alexanderplatz, an IHG Hotel

The location is great, BUT:
- There seems to be no management whatsoever. The window, the wall are ravaged and barebones. The smoke detector falls off the wall.
- The hotel basics are lacking. In my room, there is no chair. The foldable desk is broken. The sole power outlet can only be accessible by unfolding the broken desk, and it rejects my wall adapter (which happened for the first time in 20 hotels I have recently stayed). It’s 21st century and this hotel room is anti-laptop. I cant find a place to sit down and do my work.

Good but needs a lot

Room service is every second day. Don’t know why ?

Wifi is almost not working

Bathroom belongings like Shampoo, Shower Gel, etc. is not there. You have to get it from reception upon request

No water battle in rooms. You have to purchase it

Good point is location nearby Alexanderplatz

Good location, central but not noisy. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Clean, reasonably modern rooms with good AC. However, only shower gel provided in the bathroom.

All good in the HI hood. Standard HI quality property. All you need in a convenient location. Small rooms but sufficient for two for a night or so. Dead center Berlin, perfect location for all that Berlin has to offer (which is a lot). Paid parking on the street annoying but unavoidable in a city like Berlin. [Stayed here September 2020]

It is very difficult to rate this hotel. Because I was honestly expecting something else from a 4 Star Hotel in Berlin. The room is small, but it was not a surprise (so are the rooms in Europe Capitals). The bed looks comfortable, but it is not (the matrasses are too big - in my opinion and they simply trow you out of bed). The furniture is not in a good shape. No windows to be opened (and this is a big problem if you have some space issues - room is small and has no window to be opened). No parking place, although they mention them also on Booking and on Check24. Just the street parking places (22 euro/day) or the ones in Alexa Mall (12 euro/day). They receive three stars for the view, which is amazing. You can see the TV Tower from your room.

Decent sized and clean rooms, friendly staff, convenient location.
Loved their go green policy for handwash and other toiletries.
Took off one star because their washrooms have heavy sliding doors which were unfriendly.

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Its has an excellent location. Receptionists are very kind and friendly. l felt like home right away. Stayed in a beautiful room comfortable bed with the tower view. Thank you for a memorable stay.
