Dear me. I came to Berlin with a slightly injured ankle. Walking around all day long didn’t do it any good, so me and my friends went to this Apotheke.
My German is usually pretty good, but when the kindest of smiles and loveliest of voices pierced my brain I stumbled over my words. And when she gave me measuring tape to measure the circumference (of the ankle, ed.) I could do little more than nod. This beautiful Apothekerin got me love struck!
Despite my sudden loss of reality, I was helped very professionally and I could walk all weekend without pain. There was a slight problem with paying by card (hence 4 out of 5 stars) but that’s still quite common in Germany.
The rest of the weekend I thought of injuring my other Knöchel, pretending to have Heuschnupfen or faking Kopfschmerzen just to come back, but I cowardly didn’t and we eventually went home. I came to Berlin with a slightly injured ankle but left with a slightly broken heart!
