Great department store, you can get just about anything from lighting to food to restaurant upstairs in the top floor. It is a store worth going through. The upper floor with the international food section is varied an expansive. The interior clear elevators are a quick way for an over all view.

Karstadt Berlin Hermannplatz is a very big store in Hart of Hermannplatz Berlin.I was there to make some shopping for the weekend .It have many different departement to buy many things including raw food and restaurant to eat food.Nice place to make shopping.

Its quite nice and big. Supermarkets have a big more higher prices, comperd to other ones in Berlin.

I found the general part of the store to be quite pleasant and easy to navigate. The same does not apply to the food department in the basement. Even though the quality of the food is good, the prices are on the high side. The procedure for paying for food is extremely confusing - some counters ask you to pay there on the spot but others send you to the checkout and they get annoyed when you express surprise. This confusion applies even to different counters selling the same class of product. They can be rude to people like me who are not native German speakers and there is the feeling that you are been bumped along in the line. However, I found the lady at the counter that sells olives among other delicacies, to be most pleasant and helpful - she even gave me a free sample of a delicious sauce.

I had a great lunch on the top floor, overlooking Berlin. The choice is wide and the quality and price excellent. You can find anything and everything at Karstadt at better prices than the duty free shop at the airport. Nice and centrally located as well and the trains are beneath the building.
