The hospital suffers from a major failure in communication between units. After being in the emergency room and admitted as a neurology patient, I was placed in the urology unit, due to a supposed lack of beds, just like in any other hospital (poor system). I underwent some tests while in the ER that brought no solutions to my problems, so I was hospitalized, which made the situation completely worse. I was literally put on a bed, in a room that was visited frequently by nurses and doctors, who were not from neurology and not for me. I was ignored and the days have gone by. My symptoms have not improved and I have to ask for medication to kill the pain I have. No one bring me solutions and honestly, lying here the entire day does not help. Most of the urology nurses just say they do not know anything and cannot do anything as they are not from neurology. I had to get out of bed and walk out on my own two feet to go to the neurology to ask for information because I had been two days without doing anything. No exams, no physiotherapy, absolutely nothing. The nurses from the neurology unit were outraged with the situation and said that no one had contacted them from the urology department to get answers, but it turns out that neither one side nor the other had any interest, concern or consideration for me. German is not my mother tongue, but I can speak it. I tried to speak English as well but it seems that in Berlin there is still a lack of training and language skills. After much effort I managed to speak to the doctor who told me that I would have a spinal MR today at 1 p.m., which did not happen. Still no answer. A lack of respect for patients. I do not recommend this health unit. I am unhappy and I intend to file an official complaint. If today at the end of the day I don't have a paper that allows me to leave, I will leave without it.
