The food was nice presented and the taste of the main dishes was quite good. Sadly our starter, a tomato soup, was not tasting so good. And after coming home our stomaches were a little bit upset. Thus not convinced to come again.
Service was really friendly and design was satisfactory regards location.

Summary below.
I'll be honest, at first I was a little apprehensive about going here, the fancy interior made me think it would be high price small portion. I was very wrong!

The waiter was super friendly and when the GF ask for a wine (let him choose) I thought that would cost us, again proven wrong. The wines were extremely nice and at reasonable prices.

The food was amazing! I strongly recommend a Flame cooken, it's similar to a white pizza but with a cream cheese and the base is like filo pastry.

The schnitzel is awesome, you get two of them with a lovely dressed salad and exceptional bacon onion potato's.

SUMMERY: If you are hungry and looking for a place to try some REAL German food go here! Would definitely go again.

Nice place in Prenzlauerberg. Excellent selection of dishes with a decent wine/beer list. You can order smaller "tapas" sized dishes of classical German fare so that you can share and try more stuff. Civilized atmosphere.

I come here often. Food is good and well prepared. Service is often - almost always - impolite and unfriendly... A confrontational kind of style with client seems to be the unspoken rule. It's a pity.

We ended up here by accident - Had booked Solar rooftop restaurant but got there to find it hot, clammy, empty and lacking atmosphere with a poncy overpriced menu sodecided to head back to Prater Garten area as we had seen some cool restaurants earlier. The Taxi stopped outside Die Schule so we thought we would give it a try. As someone who used to live in German but hadn't visited for 20 years I was annxious that my group and I tried some long missed classics. At Die Schule I ticked everything off my list except Zigeuner sauce (which I couldn't find anywhere in Berlin)

Worse burger in town (what is that meat people?), quality of Flammkuchen ingredients extremely bad service inexistent even though we were 3 tables only. Our stomachs and taste buds are still traumatized hours are after. It all looked pretty but it wasn't fresh and it really tasted like the worse German food in town. Two Berliners, two foreigners: everyone agreed it was a bad restaurant.

Had a wonderful stay here over Easter 16. Hotel is in a great location. Breakfast is superb. Rooms are big, clean and quiet. We'd definitely visit again
