The museum is limited to a special exhibition on Karl Marx, at least in April ‘22 when we visited. The building is impressive, but with only a limited area used it becomes an awkward experience. We enjoyed the exhibition, even though some of the interactive physics displays were inoperable because they were broken. The staff is half friendly and professional, half unfriendly and unfit for a service profession. Nonetheless we recommend a visit - we know Marx but found out many things we weren’t aware of.

One of the exhibition rooms was close and the other had portraits of Angela Merkel when I visited. The museum per se, seems to pay more attention to the monumentally of the building per se rather than the exhibitions. There are several set of stairs to visit the exhibition rooms, and large space to stand and admire the architecture, and later enter in what it feels pocky room with lower cellings where the show take place.

As a museum, the Deutsches Historisches Museum - Pei-Bau and German Historical Museum is unfortunately a "big" disappointment at the moment, as there is only a small exhibition on the subject of CITIZENSHIPS, which is not even good. Unfortunately, many aspects are lost in it. The advantages of Europe are not even really explained or addressed. The rest of the museums are currently a big construction site and are actually closed and not accessible. Instead of closing the museum until everything is ready, staff are ordered to wait, and it seems more like a reminiscent federal job program. I'm currently advising against a visit. When it's 100% open again, and will definitely visit again.

I visited a temporary exhibition on Wagner and it was very interesting. The idea with his opera shows in small areas separated by thick curtains is great. The "black box" on the other hand is meh.

Such a cool building and the museum is a must-see in Berlin. The place is very big with many things to see for free.

Currently the main building is closed for renovation, so there are only temporary exhibitions that can be seen
