This place is such a gem!
The interior is so beautiful and cozy, it really makes you feel like you have escaped Berlin.
The staff are very attentive, skilled, and friendly.
The food was really amazing. We have various appetizers, pasta dishes, and fish dishes at our table and they were all exceptional.
They don’t have vegan options on the menu but they are very willing to make accommodations and change ingredients to make dishes vegan!
They also have a great wine list that the staff is knowledgeable about.
This might be my new favorite Italian place in Berlin, I definitely recommend it!

Last night we came here for a friends birthday dinner. The food was exceptional. Especially the pasta dishes. Our server was so hospitable and kind and treated our five year old like a prince. The atmosphere is the perfect blend of beautiful, timeless, romantic and fun. Uplifting music combined with a candle lit dinner. Super authentic food. We’ll be back!

The place has a lot of potential. The food was lovely but quite expensive. Especially the appetizer dishes were overpriced for the amount served on the plate. The music and ambience in general was very nice. However one particular woman, I think she was the shift leader, in the service completely killed the vibe for us. She rushed us through all the courses, gave us the nerves from start to finish, and was not able to let us enjoy our meal in peace. Demanding us to order food without giving us any thought about it, not a single smile or thank you, and an unpleasant agitated feeling overall. Arriving with the bill when we have not asked for it yet is also a no go. Especially for the money we were spending, which is high for Berlin standards. A shame, because the rest of the service team was very kind.

I was hesitant to write a negative review, as I have previously eaten here and enjoyed the experience.

However, I had written privately to Goldene Hahn after the recent meal (prompted by their feedback form) and they never deigned to answer, so at least this way I can share my experience with others.

I decided to bring my partner here for her birthday on a Wednesday evening several weeks ago.

Unfortunately, it could hardly have been a worse experience and ruined what should have been a joyous occasion.

We were routinely ignored. We eventually got a staff member to take our order 30mins after we were ready (one staff member had promised to, but never returned). Bear in mind: it was not very busy as it midweek.

My meal was the Fettuccine with mixed mushrooms and I’m sorry to say that it was extremely disappointing. The pasta was very overdone, the sauce was watery and the mushrooms were mushy and tasteless. For a dish which costs €20 I certainly expected better.
As most of the dishes of the evening contained mushroom, I was under the impression that they had access to a fresh source, but that did not seem to be the case.

My partner's meal (the seafood pasta) was marginally better.

Lastly, as we were not provided with any bread (standard custom, also at this restaurant), we asked for some during the meal. It was begrudgingly supplied, with the staff member who brought it literally slamming the pepper grinder on the table.

We felt generally unwelcome and decided against getting dessert as we were no longer comfortable being there.

Food was splendid, no doubt about that. However we didnt feel welcome, actually some of the staff members made us feel uncomfortable. I feel bad about giving two stars, but after reading reviews of similar experiences I am sad that nothing has changed. Good vibes are (in my opinion) the most important part of going out to a nice restaurant.

the place looks OK, unfortunately price/quality is not so good. The truffle slices in the salad doesn't taste nor smell at all like truffle, just like nothing at all (maybe cardboard?) The chicken meat was hard to remove from the bone and the pasta was sort of all dente but tasted very bland. All in all for half the price it could be called okayish.. by the way, the music was pretty loud sort of fusion / lounge.. nothing at all Italian.. but its a matter of taste I suppose.

Had a reservation made weeks earlier but there was no table for us. Sighing and eye-rolling by the waiter, who seemed super stressed and didn’t make us feel welcome at all. Could have suggested a drink at the bar while waiting. Waited for 15 minutes with the waiter looking annoyed at us every time he passed us - then being asked to go to the wine bar next door where “everything is the same” - menu and music wise. We were placed in the back, in a cold and quiet room .. but sensing our dissatisfaction with this, the bar man - poor guy, alone at the shift - moved us to the front room.
Food was quite nice but fettuccine too al dente - and being in the winebar, there was no S/P or oil for the bread. The bar man really did his best and was very humble about the situation, but we left feeling very disappointed. Our trip to Berlin was carefully planned food wise and we felt this meal was a waste of time and money with so many other options available. Definitely not recommended.
