The cakes here are just delicious and the whole ambience/mise en scene spectacular. The cafe also has a small exhibition space and a number of old GDR artefacts.

Where else in the world can you go to a cafe that doubles up as a museum that hosts regular monthly events? As their website indicates, Café Sybille was first opened in 1953 under the name "Milchtrinkhalle" and was really popular since day one. We went for coffee, cake, ice cream and a look around while my father was visiting. I would highly recommend this cafe as a perfect place to bring international guests and visiting friends / family. The service was good. I've taken one point off for the menu not being up-to-date and in need of a reprint.

A piece of the DDR era of Berlin and a breakfast cafe. There are good breakfast options at very reasonable prices. Friendly service and good food. It would have been nice if the cafe was even more DDR themed as it feels like it is a bit lost between the period and a modern cafe at times. The props inside give a good overview of the times though

A must do when you visit Karl Marx Allee. Has a small museum which is very useful understanding how the Allee was built. Pretty good food and coffee also. Has a feel of old East Berlin in its decor. Good for history buffs.

We shared a decent coffee and cake at this historic cafe in this quirky part of old Berlin. The service was slowish so perhaps don't visit if you are rushed but it suited our tempo just fine and the wall photos and artefacts were interesting

It was odd to chance on this place, but I'm glad I did. The chocolate cake was very nice, and the coffee was lovely. Being a Marxist cafe, it would be strange if everything was so perfect.

Good place for cake and coffee. Has a little exhibition about the GDR, including the ear and mustache of a disassembled Stalin statue that used to grace the street.
